Who are we?

Welcome to the Voices of Okemos Project. We are a group dedicated to raising awareness of social justice issues within the Okemos High School, the local community, and the global community. We will provide a space for the voices within the Okemos community to share their thoughts on social justice issues. These issues will include gender rights, sexual orientation, socio-economic status,  and more. Students will also be invited to share their ideas on how to stimulate change within the community. OHS students, along with the assistance of MSU undergraduate and graduate students, will create, gather, and organize submissions. The submissions will be organized on "The Wall", a board outside of the OHS guidance office where students can see the thoughts of their community. This Weebly site will provide the virtual edition of "The Wall", allowing a larger audience to student work. In addition to working on both of these spaces, the OHS students will present the final project at an event for Safer Schools, an organization at Michigan State University.
